The Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association’s 2014 Ohio Sustainable Farm Tour and Workshop Series featured free public tours of some of Ohio’s finest sustainable and organic farms. The series, which included 15 farm tours and six workshops, was held between June 7th and November 14th. Nearly 2,000 growers, educators, and conscientious eaters attended farm tours and learned about sustainable food production in a real world setting from farmers with years of practical experience. Seventy four more people attended workshops on dairy herd health, farming with horses, farm machinery, and solar electric installation. OEFFA has offered this educational series for more than 30 years.
Nearly 1,200 farmers, gardeners, researchers, retailers, and others attended OEFFA's 2014 conference, which featured approximately 100 workshops and more than 70 exhibitors in the trade show. Another 115 farmers attended OEFFA's pre-conference intensives on bio-farming and wholesale marketing.
The Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association's 36th annual conference, Sustainable Agriculture: Renewing Ohio’s Heart and Soil, will be held Friday, February 13 through Sunday, February 15, 2015 in Granville Ohio. OEFFA’s two-day conference is Ohio's largest sustainable agriculture event, featuring keynote speakers Alan Guebert and Doug Gurian-Sherman. For more information, click here.
